Privacy Policy

TourFinderApp ("the Service", "we") is an AI travel guide at tourfinder.app. This policy explains what information the Service handles and why.
What we collect
- Your messages. Whatever you type into the chat, and the replies you receive. Please don't enter passwords, payment details, or other sensitive personal information.
- Approximate location from your IP address. On page load we look up your country from your IP address so suggestions fit where you are. No permission prompt is involved.
- Precise location, only if you choose to share it. If you opt in, your coordinates are used to find your city and to answer "near me" questions.
- Usage counts. We count messages per day to apply the free-plan limit.
- Anonymous site analytics. We use Vercel Web Analytics to measure page views. It does not use cookies and does not track you across sites.
Stored on your device
Your chat list, theme and background choice are kept in your browser's local storage. They stay on your device. You can delete a chat in the app or clear the site's data in your browser to remove them.
Stored on our servers
Conversations are saved on our server so a chat can continue across messages. Conversations may also be kept and used to evaluate and improve the Service, including as training data for our own models. Don't include anything in a chat that you wouldn't want retained.
Who else handles your data
- Anthropic (Claude) — your messages are sent to generate replies and, when needed, to run web searches.
- OpenStreetMap / Nominatim — place search queries are sent to find venues.
- ip-api.com — your IP address is sent to work out your country.
- Render hosts our backend and Vercel hosts this website; both process requests in the course of serving them.
We do not sell your personal information or use it for advertising.
Retention
We keep server-side conversations for as long as they are useful for running and improving the Service, unless you ask us to delete them.
Your rights
Depending on where you live (for example under the GDPR, UK GDPR or similar laws), you may have the right to access, correct, delete or export your data, to object to or restrict how it is used, and to withdraw consent. To exercise any of these, contact us using the details below. We will respond within a reasonable time. You can also complain to your local data protection authority.
Children
The Service is not directed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect their information. If you believe a child has used it, contact us and we will delete the data.
Security
Traffic is encrypted in transit (HTTPS). No system is perfectly secure, so we can't guarantee absolute security.
Changes
We may update this policy. The date at the top shows when it last changed. Continued use after a change means you accept the updated policy.
